What should I do when a flashing yellow arrow is displayed at intersection?
Flashing yellow arrows are popping up around Clackamas County.
A new style of traffic signals has been installed at several intersections in Clackamas County. Similar changes are planned at additional intersections.
The new traffic signals add a flashing yellow arrow. When the flashing yellow arrow is displayed, left turns are allowed but drivers must yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians before making the left turn. Here is what to do:
Steady red arrow = Stop and remain stopped.
Steady yellow arrow = Stop if you can do so safely.
Flashing yellow arrow = Proceed with left turn after yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians.
Steady green arrow = Proceed with left turn.
